Terms of Service

The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and MTC Labs LLC, a Georgia limited liability company ("we", "us", or "our"), who operates TeamConnect (teamcnct.app and the app at app.teamcnct.app) — a communications and dues app for travel-baseball teams and organizations.

By creating an account or using TeamConnect, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information. If you create an organization, you agree to them on behalf of that organization too, and you confirm you're allowed to. If you don't agree, please don't use TeamConnect.

TeamConnect is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any league, tournament, or governing body.

Accounts and signing in

• Age. You must be 13 or older to have an account. If you're under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.
• Signing in. There is no password. We email a 6-digit code to your address each time you sign in, so anyone who can read your email can sign in as you. Keep your email account secure, and don't share your codes.
• Accurate information. Use your real name and an email address you control.
• Your account is yours. You're responsible for what happens under it. Tell us at support@teamcnct.app if you think someone else has used it.

Organizations, teams, and admins

Every TeamConnect account belongs to an organization — a single team is a one-team organization, and a club is an organization with several teams. The people who run an organization or team (Org Admins, Coaches, and others with admin roles) are responsible for:

• who they invite and the roles they give them;
• the content and roster information they enter, including that it's accurate and appropriate; and
• having permission — from each player's parent or guardian — to add that player's information to TeamConnect.

The organization is our customer. Its admins decide who is on its teams and may remove people. We may act on an admin's instructions about the organization's data.

Players and minors

Players don't have accounts. Their name, jersey number, position, and parent links are entered by the team's coaches and admins, and used only to run the team. A parent or guardian can ask the coach, or us, to correct or remove their child's information at any time — see our Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

When you use TeamConnect, don't:

• harass, bully, threaten, or demean anyone;
• post anything unlawful, sexually explicit, hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
• send spam or phishing, including through invites, or invite people who haven't asked to be part of the team;
• try to get around security or access controls, reach data you're not permitted to see, overload the service, or probe it for weaknesses without our written permission;
• impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your connection to a team or player;
• post other children's personal information beyond what the team needs — keep players' details to team purposes, and respect every minor's privacy; or
• use TeamConnect for any purpose other than running and following your teams.

Your content

What you post — messages, announcements, events, logos, and roster information — stays yours. You give us permission to store, copy, display, and transmit it only as needed to operate TeamConnect for you and your teams, for as long as it's on the service (and in backups for a short time after, as the Privacy Policy describes). You confirm you have the right to post it.

We don't review content before it's posted, but we may remove content that breaks these terms. TeamConnect itself — the software, design, and brand — belongs to us.

Subscriptions and billing

• Families always join free. Only an organization pays, for its plan.
• Free trial. A new organization gets a 14-day free trial, with no card required. If the trial ends without a card on file, the organization's teams become read-only until one is added — nothing is deleted.
• Price. Plans are billed per active team, monthly or annually, at the prices on our pricing page. Taxes are added where they apply.
• Payment. Subscriptions are billed through Stripe, and renew automatically at the end of each month or year until cancelled. The organization's admins manage the card, the billing cycle, and cancellation from the app.
• Pausing. You can pause a team between seasons; everything on the team is kept. On a monthly plan, paused teams aren't billed. A yearly plan is paid for the teams it covers for the whole year — its discount (two months free) accounts for the off-season — so pausing gives no credit or refund for that year; resuming or adding a team within the teams paid for costs nothing more, and a team beyond them is charged for the rest of the year. Each renewal is priced on the teams active at the time.
• Unpaid bills. If a payment fails, the organization has 7 days to fix it before its teams become read-only. Reading never stops.

Cancellation and refunds

• Monthly plans. Cancel anytime. The plan runs to the end of the month you've paid for. We don't give partial refunds.
• Annual plans. Ask within 30 days of a charge — the first payment or a renewal — and we'll refund it in full. After 30 days, there's no refund, and the plan runs to the end of the year. We'll email a reminder before an annual plan renews.
• Billing mistakes are always refunded.
• If we discontinue TeamConnect, we'll refund any prepaid time that's left, pro rata.

Team dues

Dues are separate from your subscription. When a family pays dues through TeamConnect, the money goes straight to that team's own Stripe or Square account. The team sets its dues, collects them, and handles any refunds of them. TeamConnect provides the tools, but we are not a party to those payments and do not hold the funds. Questions or disputes about dues go to the team. We charge no fee on dues. Stripe and Square charge their own processing fees to the team's account, under their own terms.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using TeamConnect at any time, and delete your account as the Privacy Policy describes. We may suspend or close an account, or remove someone from the service, if they break these terms, abuse the service or its people, or put others at risk — and where the situation allows, we'll tell them why. If we close an organization's account for reasons other than a breach of these terms, we'll refund its prepaid time pro rata.

Changes

TeamConnect will keep changing: we may add, change, or remove features. We may also update these terms. The effective date at the top always shows the current version. For a material change, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using TeamConnect after a change takes effect, the new terms apply; if you don't agree to them, you can stop using the service and cancel.

Disclaimers

We work hard to keep TeamConnect running and your information safe, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement — and we don't promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that notifications and emails will always arrive. Don't rely on TeamConnect alone for anything urgent or safety-related, such as a last-minute weather cancellation.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or TeamConnect is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Indemnity

If you're an organization or its admin, you agree to defend and indemnify us against claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from the content and roster information your organization puts on TeamConnect — including a claim that you didn't have permission to add a player's information — or from your breach of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction.

General

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about TeamConnect. If any part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a part of them right away, we haven't given up the right to later.
